Prior Learning Centre has one model of training but we can vary the number of days and the frequency of delivery to suit client needs.

Generally, if the learners are new to the job role we recommend the 15 or 18 days of training, but then they have to complete their portfolio in their own time (although some time will be set aside for this each day it will not be enough time to complete the whole portfolio).

During the sessions learners complete worksheets as formative assessment activities and engage in discussions and practical projects in groups.  These are all designed to ensure the class moves along at a fair pace while ensuring that all learners grasp the material as they move from section to section.

If the learners are on a learnership, Prior Learning Centre will also work with the workplace coaches to assist them to guide the learners in the workplace.

A typical course programme would look as follows:

The Prior Learning Centre training intervention includes:

  • Assessment tools
  • Support materials (eg textbooks, notes)
  • Course programmes
  • 15 or 18 days of full facilitation by an experienced facilitator
  • One free assessment + one free remedial assessment (thereafter payment from candidate is required to remediate )
  • Written feedback
  • Option to hand in PoE over clusters or all in one go (client decision)
  • Learner support via cell phone help number OR email OR forum (preferable to build up record for moderation and client feedback)
