Prior Learning Centre bids farewell to Carryn who has moved to take up new challenges and we welcome Debbie Smith to her place as Real Estate project manager.   Debbie has managed RPL internally fir a large national real estate agency and is now on 'the other side' with a provider.  Debbie is an assessor and well able to guide the agents and principals through the RPL journey.

Recently, our first group of principals completed the RPL programme and they will be graduating shortly.  All learners did remarkably well and most were fully competent the first time around. Well done guys!

Prior Learning Centre is part of a national SAQA RPL project with UWC, UCT and Workers College (UKZN).  Our contribution to this RPL research is the vocational experiences of RPL.  This is indeed an honour and we are all looking forward to sharing our experiences in due course.

Prior Learning Centre was awarded TWO prestigious baobab awards at the Services SETA annual conference in October.  One was for an outstanding learnership implementation at Fuel Logistics with DSS and the other was for ongoing support to the sector.  Well done to all staff and learners involved in making this achievement a reality!

 Prior Learning Centre has been appointed by the Estate Agency Affairs Board (EAAB) to conduct RPL on their behalf for the Real Estate sector.  This project commenced in June 2008.  Contact Debbie (debbie@rpl.co.za) or Luvuyo (luvuyo@rpl.co.za) for more information. 

Karen Deller has completed her PhD on RPL through the University of Johannesburg.  The title of her dissertation was "Towards the development of an RPL model for the SA insurance sector".
