About Prior Learning Centre Prior Learning Centre is a multi-purpose assessment centre with RPL as its main area of focus. We have experience in managing RPL and learnership projects of substantial magnitude and importance. Prior Learning Centre uses the LearnSys RPL model, which has been thoroughly researched and was the subject of a PhD research project through the University of Johannesburg (Deller, 2007). Prior Learning Centre staff is aware of the history of RPL and we support the objectives of SAQA in relation to RPL. These include: - Facilitating access to, and mobility and progression within education, training and career paths;
- Accelerating redress of past unfair discrimination in education, training and employment opportunities.
Prior Learning Centre was formed to specifically assist organisations to implement fair and valid assessment processes. With this objective in mind, we have capacity to develop all assessment tools, test and validate these tools, train assessors, moderate the results and give constructive feedback to candidates. Prior Learning Centre is the trading name of LearnSys (Pty) Ltd, which is an accredited provider (see more detail under 'accreditations'). We are also registered with the Department of Education and UMALUSI. |
